MISSION STATEMENT:

Los Rayos de Esperanza, Inc. exists to create a brighter world for impoverished children and families in the developing country of Nicaragua. 

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT:

We recognize that a brighter world will only come as we shine God’s love upon His people and illuminate the Gospel message through practical acts of service and ministries that contribute to long-lasting, life giving change. 

CORE VALUES:

Respect  We respect each individual as an image bearer of the living God.  We will honor and treat them as such.

Service  We embrace the model that Jesus gave us; in humility, He became a servant to others.  We therefore seek to honor God by serving and putting others ahead of ourselves.

Education  We are committed to helping people acquire the knowledge and skills they need to live healthier more productive lives. 

Discipleship  We seek to develop relationships and engage in long-term discipleship.  We will do this by consistent investment in lives and communities and in partnership with the local church.

Self-sustainability  We engage in projects that help individuals, families, and entire communities grow in their independence and self-sustainability.  We require that those we seek to help take initiative in, and ownership of, the projects we put resources in.  We endeavor not to do for the people what they can do for themselves given the proper education/training, support/encouragement, and opportunity/empowerment.
